Catherine Cain, MSW, LMSW
Supervised by: Melissa Gould, LCSW-S

Catherine is passionate about working with adults, college students, and teenagers (16+). She specializes in depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, spiritual concerns, complex family dynamics, and life transitions. Having experienced her own loss, she has a deep compassion for those navigating grief and finds purpose in helping others heal through various stages. Catherine also has a heart for cross-cultural ministry and has lived and worked overseas.
Catherine’s counseling approach is grounded in interpersonal neurobiology, narrative therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She is trained in CBT-I and EMDR. Her professional background includes medical social work with mothers, newborns, and children, as well as community-based work with unhoused adults and young adults with significant mental health disorders.
From a young age, Catherine felt called to be a therapist and is drawn to the hope found in people’s pursuit of wholeness and joy. She takes a holistic approach to healing, creating a safe and empathetic space where clients can explore their story and develop the tools they need to move forward. She believes that we are all in the process of becoming someone, and each of us is graciously invited to take an active role in who we will become. Catherine sees it as a deep honor to be even a small part of someone else’s journey towards flourishing.
Catherine earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Baylor University and is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She is active in her local church in Austin and enjoys camping, live music, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
